A Note from The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education

The largest of the black nursing schools are at Florida A&M University, Grambling State University in Louisiana, and Norfolk State University in Virginia. Howard is one of 12 historically black institutions that offers master's degrees in nursing. The other nursing schools offering master's programs are Albany State College, Florida A&M University, Bowie State University, Hampton University, Southern University, Grambling State University, Norfolk State University, Alcorn State University, South Carolina State University, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and Tuskegee University. No historically black institution
