BLACK EXCEL'S LOOK AT THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AT SPECIFIC SCHOOLS
HOW POPULAR ARE PARTICULAR AFRICAN-AMERICAN COLLEGES?
Black Excel's list of the numbers of applications received by specific historically Black colleges--with the corresponding count of accepts--might be of interest to advisors, students, and parents. We believe that the numbers reflect the level of a school's popularity, at least to some degree.
Of course, factors like location (rural, urban) and region are significant, as well as the numbers posted by our single-sex institutions (Spelman, Morehouse, Bennett). Also we feel that the numbers (application/accept rates) are a factor in the relative competitiveness of the schools. The following stats are intented only as a supplemental/review resource.
