BLACK EXCEL'S
HISTORICALLY BLACK & PRE-
DOMINANTLY BLACK COLLEGE LISTING
(This BLACK EXCEL listing includes 143 schools, including not only
Historically Black Colleges but those mainstream schools with more
than 75% Black enrollment).
The following list was updated by BLACK EXCEL in July of 1998.
The list contains the usual information such as addresses and
admissions department telephone numbers as well as up-to-date info about
average SAT's, majors, percentage of acceptances, etc. Our comments
are intended to be a help to students at all levels--super, good, average,
and those in need of a second chance. We suggest that you contact the
schools that appeal to you and ask for a catalog, applications, and other
available literature.
Take special note of alumni association contact information. These
groups can often provide valuable extra information about school
scholarships, admissions help, and other "insider" tips.
Special thanks to Cherreka Montogomery, Program Manager,
The Frederick D. Patterson Research Institute of The United Negro
College Fund, for much of the updated material on UNCF schools
presented here.
